When will my tuition and fees be paid?
VA Education benefits will be applied directly to the student's tuition balance after Date of Record (14 days) from the start of the term to ensure students are participating in their courses/competencies.
What courses can be certified to the VA?
Only courses that are part of an approved program may be certified to the VA.
Can I add or change programs?
Yes, you may change or add a program, but you must notify the Nicolet School Certifying Official immediately.
What if I drop, withdraw, add, or change enrollment in any way during the term?
It is the student's responsibility to notify the School Certifying Official within
5 days
of any change in enrollment.
Courses added during the term (CBE) will be certified to the VA at that time and enrollment status will be adjusted.
Drops, withdrawals, or failure to attend classes could result in an over payment, which may require repayment of monies to the VA and/or Nicolet College for tuition and fees, book stipend, and monthly housing stipends.
Can repeated courses be certified to the VA?
Yes, if you fail a class or your program requires a higher grade than the one achieved, you may repeat the course and be certified. You may repeat the course until it is successfully completed, but not just to improve your GPA.
Does the VA fund remedial courses?
Yes, remedial courses can be certified, but only if there is verifiable need established. The VA does not allow remedial courses to be taken online, however.
Can I receive Federal financial aid, scholarships, etc. on top of my VA Education benefits?
Yes, students receiving VA Education Benefits can still receive other financial aid on top of that benefit. However, if the scholarship is tuition specific assistance, a reduction in the amount of tuition assistance will be made to your VA benefits.
